Carl Martin PlexirangerOur price: £149.00 When we look back to the glory days of rock guitar (mid 60's to mid 70's), some of the most popular amplifier set-ups were British Marshalls and Vox's.....often with multi-speaker cabinets. Players like Tony Iommi, Ritchie Blackmore, Brian May etc, carved their signature sounds on stage and in the studio with these rigs, and in order to deal with the over-powering bottom end, they made use of 'The Treble Booster'. Treble Boosters add top end or higher frequencies to the guitar tone, and depending on how the amp is set up, some much desired overdrive. As much as companies like Dallas (Rangemaster) and Hornby Skewes (Treble Booster) were solving a bottom-end problem, they had also created a new sound pallette! Carl decided it was time to re-introduce this sound with the PlexiRanger! And leave it to Carl to add a gain channel along with the boost channel for a one-of -a-kind fx pedal!

The new `single channel` Carl Martin PlexiTone was designed in
association with Pete Thorn, and is housed in a small pedal-board
friendly housing with 3 knobs and 1 switch. Apart from Pete’s slight
modifications that give this new pedal a tighter bottom-end and slightly
softer high frequencies, it is exactly the same gain structure as the
High Gain setting on the original Pro-Series PlexiTone….it just plays
better with different amps. The single Plexi also incorporates our new
DC-DC converter circuitry, so the pedal can be powered by a regulated 9V
Power Supply but will still operate on the same +-12V level as the
original AC powered PlexiTone. This allows us to use the same high
quality components which provide the same tone and headroom that make
the CM Pro-Series stand out from the rest!

humbuckers extra punch. Stack it with your other pedals to give you
extra boost and smooth out your overdrive, the Carl Martin Plexitone
Lo-gain gives your sound that Plexi character.
